This time, a Monotonik debut for Finnish graphic artist and musician Flutterspot, and pretty much his first music release anywhere, with the gorgeous electronic tones of 'Labmat'. What do we like about this? Well, for starters, 'Daily Sway Of Everything (That You Touch)' is satisfyingly chunky, before 'Sky So My' segues into some smartly rotating beats. Then, there's 'Liihko Hymn', which is layers and layers of sound in an almost shoegaze fashion, but with firm rhythms layered on top, before...

Lackluster. One of those artists that you seem to encounter wherever you go when looking for laidback electronica. It has been a wish from the start of this label to have a Lackluster release on this label. With this release, Lackluster takes an Ilkae track, and turns it into an 18 minute long remix jam session. Very nice chilled rhythms, beautiful melodies. A wonderful trip.

Having released an EP back in 2002 from the sometime duo, nowadays largely uno Ilkae , aka Canada's Aaron Munson, we were delighted when we heard Ilkae had a new 777-copy limited edition CDR out, called 'Stained Glass Pinata'. What's more, he wanted to mix up a couple of the tracks from it with some more exclusive songs for a Monotonik release as the cunningly named 'Stained Glass Confetti EP'. In fact, we were so delighted that we let him do it. So he did. So we released it. And this is it....

Percussion Lab is proud to present an exclusive live set by Toytronic and SubVariant recording artist Ochre. Ochre has also contributed to a number of releases in the past decade on labels such as Rednetic Recordings, Repeat Music, Audiobulb Records and Boltfish Recordings. His music is full of energy, style and class - often outdoing the artists which originally inspired him to create. His latest album, A Midsummer Nice Dream, on Toytronic, is a crisp, cool journey through a diverse electronic...

Praveen, Percussion Lab founder and Neo Ouija recording artist, melds recordings of his own drumming, guitar and classically trained piano playing with subtle, glitchy beats and found sound. This set, from a Type Records showcase in NYC, features Praveen's post "Backed By Spirits" (debut album on Neo Ouija) experiments. The set reaches its peak when Praveen jumps on the drum set for a quick live improv session. At the end of the set, two tracks from Praveen's debut album, "Backed...

This month's featured set for Percussion Lab comes to us compliments of Yasume. Its a gem of an old set from their Ghent Sessions performance. It showcases Gabriel Morley's (aka Logreybeam) clever use of real and created instruments and John Twell's (aka Xela) manipulation of subtle melodic soundscapes. It was recorded a while back, but we've recently got our hands on it over here and think its a disservice not to share this fantastic live set. Big thanks to the folks over at Ghent Sessions for...

Funkstorung have been making melodic yet gritty electronic beats since the early nineties. Shortly after releasing their debut EPs, Funkstorung jumped into the spotlight with their remixes of Wu Tang Clan and Bjork. Their first full length artist album, "Appetite for Disctruction" followed on K7 Records. Their record label, Music Aus Strom, has featured releases by artists such as Freeform and Crunch. This short set from Michael Fakesch and Chris de Luca was recorded at the Tribeca...

Percussion Lab is proud to host this dope, hard hitting live mix from Travis Stewart, AKA Machine Drum. First blazing his way onto the scene with his blend of crunchy hip hop, chopped up vocals and sinewave melodies as Machine Drum, Travis Stewart has also released incredibly complex electronic beats as Syndrone and surgically sliced and diced soundscapes as T.Stewart. This set features sounds off his latest Machine Drum album, Bidnezz, available on M3rck Records. Be sure to peep his upcoming...

"...listen to trident at night. In a way the tracks are 'nocturnes' made out of my melancholic mood. I love the tranquility of night hours when the city sleeps, when the mind gets more and more calm. This is the right moment to switch off thinking back and forth, to leave past things and don't care about next steps. This mood of "open-eyed dreaming" being awake and unconscious at the same time is the base for my music. There are no pictures, visions, or structures I want to...
